Toolbox

Here are some tools for crafting, upcycling and home improvement that are loved by me and other DIY bloggers.

My Favorite Products

Dremel 4000-2/30 120-Volt Variable Speed Rotary Tool Kit is at the top of my list because it’s the ultimate tool for DIYers and craters. When I first featured this product, I showed a DIY ring made from a broken tea cup that uses a Dremel tool to make it. If you go to the Amazon link for it you can see other uses photographed.

Here is another project you can make with the Dremel…

The next go-to tool is a sewing machine. I use a 1955 Pfaff machine that I garbage picked. Not really easy to come by. But, you’re in luck. New sewing machines are available and of excellent quality. I do think that sewing machines with stitch options are the best way to go if you want to have some fun with your projects.

Here are some free sewing patterns from Eve that you can try out with your machine!

Every upcycler needs a good jigsaw. How else are you going to repurpose furniture? When I bought my jigsaw, my world opened up. I was able to repurpose a crib into a shelf unit and a chair into a scarf rack – to name a couple. Keep in mind a jigsaw costs about $30, which I made back on my very first project.

Silhouette Cameo Starter Kit Bundle Cutter is, well, for the crafter who likes the wow factor. If you’re into paper crafts and love to add special touches – you know, kick the craftiness up a notch, then you’ll get endless enjoyment from this! Here’s a sample project done with the Cameo…

You can also do fabulous self-adhesive vinyl die cuts – think quotes and designs directly to the walls of your home, car windows, and projects.

Yes, and if you don’t already have an awesome drill, you will want to invest in one. And if you really want to have some fun with your drill, pick up the Bosch 13-Piece Spade Bit Set. It includes the 1 1/2″ spade blade that is needed to drill holes for recessed tea lights like in this project below.

So there you have the best of the best. These are my top picks and my true opinions. I have received no compensation for suggesting these products. Just passing along helpful recommendations.  ~Cristin
