Sustainable Business and Green Companies

Last week an interesting meme post scrolled through my view on Facebook. It contained a the stat: 30% of entrepreneurs suffer from depression. I am honestly surprised it’s not more.

When I published my first book, a friend congratulated me and then added, “I can’t believe you’re putting yourself out there. Very brave.” This was the first time I thought about it like that. It wasn’t long before reviews came in where people criticized my work, that I fully understood my friend’s warning.

Anytime you try to do something new, there will be people who think they can claim they can do it better, or attack you personally. As if the stress of start up costs aren’t painful enough.

That negative energy can take its tool on a person and a business.

Raising the Bar in Business

Everyone has heard the expression, “The truth hurts.” Well, when the critics start attacking and it’s true…you’re done. But if you have a company that helps others, protects the environment, gives back or provides higher quality you can raise above the haters.

In the new book, Guerrilla Marketing to Heal the World (aff. link) authors Jay Conrad Levinson and Shel Horowitz dive deep into the benefits and advantages of green, sustainable, socially responsible and charitable businesses.

    Hi Eve, I like those points that you posted. Actually, I can relate to your story. I want to believe that critics are part of life even in business. We can’t avoid criticism because no matter what we do. We can’t please everybody. So, I guess the best way to do is let them, love them and look their criticism as tool to improve us to be a better person. Thanks!
