How to Repurpose Furniture: Wine Rack

I garbaged picked this wine rack over the weekend. Let me start by emphasizing that now (the weeks leading up to Christmas) are ideal for finding curbside treasures. Why, because people know what’s going to be under the tree so they are decluttering the old in preparation for the new. So yes, I scored this perfectly great wine rack.

Unfortunately I don’t need a wine rack. But in the spirit of upcycling, what do I always say? Take what you have and make it what you want. So today I started on a really fun project that I’ll be posting about next week. In the process I felt like I wanted a work surface at standing level. Chairs can really get in the way when crafting, right.

I brought this wine rack up to my office. Got it all cozy with my crafting supplies and got right to work. This furniture repurposing project was really a matter of staging. No jigsaw needed. Therefore this transformation can take place in a matter of minutes.

Once I got it how I wanted it another idea struck. I could totally use this as a gift wrapping station. I am in love with this idea! How about you?

If you have never seen the baby changing table that I upcycled into a wine rack you can view it here. The project tutorial is featured in my book, Living Simple, Free & Happy.

Love this idea! A computer desk in the summer and a gift wrapping station in the winter! Thanks for sharing.
