As I talked about a couple weeks ago, we decided this year to purchase a Christmas tree with a root ball so that we could plant it in our back yard after Christmas. Well, this is not the only tree I’m helping to plant this season. I decorated a virtual tree through NBC’s Green is Universal program, who teamed up with the Arbor Foundation for their annual Share a Tree campaign.
So when I decorated my virtual tree, the Arbor Day Foundation will plant a tree. How awesome is that? Wait, it gets better. For every 25,000 shared, Green is Universal will donate $5,000. Score.
How to Participate in the #SHAREATREE Campaign
They’ve created a virtual forest so you can…
- visit the site
- decorate a tree
- easily share it on social media with #shareatree
Included in the forest are about 40 trees that were drawn by celebrities like Al Roker, Dolvett Quince and Meredith Vieira.
As of today they are 30% of their way to the goal of 25,000 trees decorated. The campaign goes until 12/31/14 so please act now
