Debt Discipline Giveaway

Exactly 25 years ago my husband wrote a school assignment called “7 Cures for a Lean Purse” based on lessons from the book The Richest Man In Babylon. Here are a few of the cures for a lean purse:

  1. Control your expenditures and buy things you need rather than what you want.
  2. Put your savings into an investment so you can earn more money.
  3. Seek the advice of those that are skilled in making money in whatever field you choose to invest.

With that, I’d like to announce the opportunity for you to win one of two personal finance books:

Dave Ramsey’s The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness

Thomas J. Stanley’s The Millionaire Next Door

I think it’s a great idea to give away these books. My daughter studied “The Millionaire Next Door” in college studying business and she felt the ideas in the book are very useful. I would love to win a copy.

What a great way to start off the new year…as I could really use some tips and have heard great things about Dave Ramsey’s book/program. We’ve made small changes but really could use proven methods. Thank you for your opportunity to win a book that would truly enhance our lives and future.

Luckily, we don’t have any debt, but we sure could use the investing advice. I’ve heard good things about Dave Ramsay’s program, but will check out The Millionaire Next Door. I like the title and would like to be that neighbor. 😉

Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us through your posts, – and for making those of us that have always been the “self sufficient type” – feel not quite so odd!
While I know these two books have both become classics, I’ve only skimmed “The Millionaire Next Door” but would love to win either so I can read more.

Thanks for hosting! I’ve been wishing for that Dave Ramsey book, though either would be interesting.

This is a great giveaway! I feel like we try to be frugal, but somehow still end up relying on credit cards, and end up running balances. So, we need to try a different tactic. Would love some new inspiration!

You couldn’t have picked a better authority figure than Dave Ramsey. I’ve used his methods to fix my debt problems and get on the path to being financially fit.

Great post and blog. Can’t wait to read more!
