Creative Reuses of Cardboard Boxes

First on my list today was to stop at a nearby club store to grab some of their discarded boxes. Usually I pick up the cardboard sheets that go in between pallets. But, today they had piles of brightly colored boxes that I just could not resist!

Do you see those reds, blues and greens! Yes, this is the exact fodder I need for my holiday gift wrapping and crafting.
Also notice the black shiny box in front. These boxes are designed to display products for sale, therefore they’re perfect for displaying your books, photos and knick knacks.

Here are some fun and practical reuses of cardboard boxes that I’ve found around the web:
1. Child’s play area:

2. Shelf with key hooks:

3. Toy Mailbox:

I love this idea for a kid’s Christmas party where the kids can mail their letter to Santa.

4. Cardboard window valance:

I’m pretty sure I’m going to do this because it’s so awesome!

5. Mini muffin gift box:

This is so adorable and giftable!

6. Laptop Stand: I made two of the cross supports in mine, a slight modification from the tutorial link.

I made this with the blue box from the 1st picture!

As we gear up for the holidays, keep an eye out for great boxes that can be reused to enhance gifts, make gifts and wrap gifts. They’re everywhere – and free!

Working in house removals we use alot of cardboard boxes. If they are double walled boxes then we always suggest customers can save some money by using these when packing away their belongings.

This is a nice fun idea, but are they really going to help if they break. I would have boxes that do the job then look nice. I see it all the time working in the removal business and see people who use weak boxes, spend some money on them and you wont be sorry.

      Hi John,

If my kid’s cardboard play toy broke, we’ll all be okay. We are trying to reduce waste by using what we have (not buy more).
