Auto Suggestion Techniques Require Thought AND Emotion
Lately I’ve really been trying to visualize the things I want to attract into my life. And as I was imagining money in a drawer and all this other stuff happening to me, part of me wondered if it was just hocus pocus.
Then a couple weeks ago my son started telling me how much he wanted a sandwich on white bread. We cut gluten out of our diets 5 months ago so it’s been awhile since he’s had a soft, chewy peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He went so far as to imitate eating a sandwich and moaning over it’s goodness.
Yes, a bit theatrical for a PB&J sandwich.
The very next day I chaperoned my other son’s field trip to Wegman’s grocery store. At the end of the field trip each kid received a reusable bag containing some very random groceries.
My eyes popped out of my head when I saw a loaf of white bread in the bag.
I went home and had the sandwich waiting for him when he got off the bus…the very next day after he mentioned it!
Are the Laws of Attraction Just a Coincidence?
Maybe the sandwich thing sounds like serendipity. But, I’ve got another one for you.
Two days ago my husband and I were all down about working so much, the long cold winter and not having any plans to look forward to. He said, “we don’t have Mexico to look forward to like we did last year.” Exact quote.
Last year we took the family to Mexico and it was totally amazing and honestly the BEST money we ever spent.
Now, I shit you not, this really happened after my husband spoke those words on his lunch break. Two HOURS later he called to say he won a trip to Mexico.
Now it’s not totally out of the blue. Each year his company awards a bunch of sales people with a tropical vacation. This year just happens to be to Mexico. The thing is, they announced the winners in January. He didn’t win. However someone who did win declined the trip and he was next in line.
What We Don’t Know, We Can Hope For
At the time that we were pouty over no Mexican vacation someone already knew we were going to get one.
Right now I’m sitting on a secret. My son entered an essay into a contest through his stock market club at school. He won 1st place in New York State.
He has no idea.
Someone is going to fly to our town, go to his school and present him with an award (or whatever) in front of his friends and classmates. We’re just waiting for the details so he is totally surprised.
So when you think nothing’s happening in your life, you’re trying and not seeing any results, imagine what it would be like to get the call you’ve been waiting for. Say it out loud. Have the conversation with yourself and see how amazing you feel afterward.
“Yes, Carole, we’d love for you to speak at the conference. I’ve been so busy, but as soon as I saw your email I knew you were a perfect fit.”
“Jen, we definitely want to work with you! We’ll send product samples out tomorrow. I cannot wait for you to review them!”
Conversations are waiting to happen. You just have to believe they’re coming.
